What was the defining moment when you decided to pursue music as a career?
When I wrote my first song with lyrics and guitar at eight years old I decided to pursue music and entertainment as a career.
What was a turning point in your career?
Experiencing the TAC undergrad program changed my life. It unlocked multiple pathways to music careers and gave me the tools and connections that I needed to level up my creativity and presence.

Biography
Kat Night aka 009 Night is a composer, music producer, dj, and audio artist that performs under her stage name 009. Armed with a dangerous arsenal that harnesses both creative and technical skills, she composes and produces innovative music and sound that creates meaningful emotional experiences to inspire dreamers.
Night is a Founder and Member of, a multimedia company, where she is an electronic music producer and performing artist under the name 009 for, and she dj’s as , where she produces audio for media as, and where she creates multimedia content for.
She is a member of the Recording Academy, BMI, The Society of Composers & Lyricists, and the Alliance for Women Film Composers. She is affiliated with the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, and the Wattis Scholarship Fund.
In 2021 Night won the AIAS Women In Scholarship for being an emerging Composer and Sound Designer for Video Games. She was mentored by Austin Wintory, and she attended the 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards and Summit and the Game Developer’s Conference.
Night became a Grammy U mentee in the Fall of 2022 where she was mentored in surround audio by Michael Romanowski of Coast Mastering, which supplemented her studies in Dolby Atmos Surround Sound workflow and Ambisonics for Performance, Music, and Audio at SFCM.
She was chosen for a second time to be a Grammy U mentee in the Spring of 2023 where she was mentored by Brian “BT” Gibbs of Skyline Entertainment and Publishing, which complemented her studies in song writing, composition, and music producing at SFCM.
009 was the Sky Hi Grant recipient for 2023 for her complete artwork Mingle, an interactive media experience with multidisciplinary collaboration that showcased her ambisonic compositions and immersive multimedia designs. Mingle debuted in April 2023 at the Bowes Center for Performing Arts in Studio G.
Night graduated from the ߲ݴý Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2023 with a Bachelor of Music in Technology and Applied Composition. She studied with Taurin Barrera, Matt Levine, Marco d’Ambrosio, Robert Gatley, Lennie Moore, Daria Novo, and Andrew Levin to tailor her TAC curriculum for composing for media, music technology, and music production.
She became staff at SFCM in 2023 and was promoted to the TAC Studios Assistant Manager in 2024. She is composing and producing music and keeping her music technology skills sharp in world class studios.
