Biography

Violinist Natasha Makhijani has appeared as concertmaster of numerous orchestras, including the Oakland Symphony, the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Jose Chamber Orchestra, the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Francisco Conservatory of Music, the Eastman School of Music, and the Eastern Music Festival. Natasha has appeared as soloist with the Oakland Symphony, º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Jose Chamber Orchestra, One Found Sound, and the National Repertory Orchestra.

She is a founding member of the Chamber Music Society of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Francisco, the Associate Concertmaster of the Oakland Symphony, a member of the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ta Rosa Symphony, the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and the Magik Magik Orchestra, and can also be seen performing with the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Francisco Opera and º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Francisco Ballet orchestras.

Equally dedicated to teaching as she is to performing, Natasha is on the faculty of the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Pre-College Division, is a guest teaching artist at Young Chamber Musicians, a member of the chamber music and conducting staff of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, and maintains a private teaching studio. She has also held teaching positions at the Eastman School of Music, the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Domenico School Conservatory, and The Crowden Music Center.

Natasha holds a Bachelor of Music from the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music. Her principal teachers include Bettina Mussumeli, Zvi Zeitlin, and Charles Castleman. "
