Every February, people in the United States celebrate the achievements and commemorate the history of Black Americans as part of Black History Month. This year at SFCM, saxophonist Jason Hainsworth, the Executive Director of the Roots, Jazz, and American Music program and Associate Dean of sits down with singer, recording artist, and instructor Clairdee to discuss the impact of Black music on culture, the state of diversity in music, and the paths to increasing it across the board.
