The Cleveland Quartet’s Beethoven cycle.

What are you passionate about outside of music?

Cooking and The Great Outdoors.

Richard Aaron and Joel Krosnick.

What is a favorite quote that you repeatedly tell students?

What questions do you wish students would ask sooner rather than later?

“What kind of musical path am I passionate about?”

What was the defining moment when you decided to pursue music as a career?

When music made me cry, smile, and gave me goosebumps all at the same time.

What was a turning point in your career?

Forming the Telegraph Quartet.

If you weren't a musician or teacher, what do you think you would be doing now?

Cooking or hiking.

What is your daily practice routine?

Practice the current season’s repertoire, always taking time to practice scales, arpeggios, and double stops since having a strong foundation will make everything easier, allowing me to focus on the music rather than on how to play my instrument.

If you could play only three composers for the rest of your life, who would they be?

Beethoven, Mozart, and Haydn.

What are your most important collaborations?

The Audubon Quartet, Norman Fischer, and Ian Swensen.

What is your unrealized project?

Travel to space and perform the Beethoven cycle for extraterrestrials.
